Understanding the lingo yet?
Hopefully if you have been following this blog in these early stages and had no previous knowledge on radio-telephony, you will have developed you understanding and ability to interpret and speak the 'lingo'.
Many aviation enthusiasts, trainee air traffic controllers and pilots do interesting things in there spare time...
... Like listening in to air traffic control via Liveatc.net, or recorded operations posted on the internet.
Just like living in a foreign country, listening to conversations between air traffic controllers and pilots, helps develop your radio-telephonic language and the understanding of why radio-telephony and phraseology is so important for safe operation.
Below are some of my favourite videos to listen to. Occasionally, I stream these videos onto my iPhone, in my pocket while in the gym, travelling or doing other activities. Always interesting to listen to and extremely entertaining.
